ROCHESTER, Mich. — Nine members of the Classic Appreciation World Class Detailing team in Rochester underwent private training classes at the Rochester location at 81 Mill St. to earn their individual International Detailing Association (IDA) certifications, according to a press release.
Classic Appreciation Founder and CEO Greg Swett, who is himself dually certified (CD SV) and a past president of the IDA, invited IDA Recognized Trainer (RT) Prentice St. Clair to his Rochester location to ensure that all technicians who touch customer’s vehicles are trained with the highest professional standards available, the release continued.
Newly certified Classic Appreciation team members include Robert Brady, Andrew White, Adam Gunning, Jason Houston, Justin Schultz, Anthony Garofalo, Cal O’Connor, Brandon Yagonczak and Ian Hill, the release noted; team members Tom Billock and Steven Dunn have been previously certified.
The IDA certification program known as CD-in-a-Day is often offered at tradeshows and scheduled events, the release noted, but having a detailing company support a private certification program for so many of its employees is unique.
The IDA is the detailing industry’s only supporting professional organization dedicated to promoting the success and growth of the professional detailing community and acting as the lead advocate and premier source of information for the detailing community, the release stated.
By investing in the certification for all nine of its technicians, Classic Appreciation shows how serious it is about ensuring customer satisfaction and helping its employees become better detailers, the release noted.
“IDA certification is a badge of excellence for our team members,” says Swett. “For customers, it means their vehicle is being cared for by technicians who have achieved the highest level of skills and knowledge in their profession, as determined by senior-level detailers and carwash professionals nationwide. From a management standpoint, it means our team is committed to personal growth and special dedication to their profession.”
Swett and St. Clair are both not only IDA certified, but they are Skills Validated (SV), an advanced level of training that promotes and challenges their consistency, according to the release.
Classic Appreciation has detailed over 100,000 vehicles since it opened its doors in 1985, the release noted.
