BARRIE, Ontario — To incorporate more innovation, Wellington Car Wash converted one of its self-serve bays into a modern touchless wash, according to The Barrie Examiner.
Greg Sullivan, owner of the family-owned carwash, explained in the article that the reason is because of “old-fashioned customer service.”
“We believe in it, and all of our regular clients have come to expect it,” said Sullivan in the article.
The owner noted that the touchless carwash required a “substantial investment,” but he has noticed more people who don’t want any wash equipment touching their vehicles.
“And, there are so many seniors who live within minutes of this plaza, and they don’t necessarily want to get out of their cars to use the self-serve anymore,” stated Sullivan in the article. “So that was a big part of it, just making it easier for them.”
The touchless wash features a four-stage process, informed the article, which includes two presoaks, a pressure wash, triple shine and sealer.
“I know my customers’ cars; I know what day of the week they’re going to come in,” asserted Sullivan in the article. “We now have two sets of loyal customers — the ones who like the self-serve, and those who prefer the touchless.”
Sullivan has been working out a plan for the wash, Drop ‘N Wash for past few months, continued the article.
“We’re here all the time,” said Sullivan in the article. “We see lots of people going to No Frills, [to] the salon or to get their taxes done, and/or get their [cars] washed. They have busy lives so we thought we’d offer a way to help them out.”
A week before the touchless wash bay was added to Wellington Car Wash, noted the article, two customers on the same day asked if it was possible to drop off their cars for a touchless wash while they shopped at a nearby store.
“That confirmed it for us,” stated Sullivan in the article. “We knew it was a great idea right then and there — that there definitely is a demand for it. And we’re the only touchless carwash in Barrie that offers this service, so it’s pretty exciting.”
He continued in the article, “People just pull up to the kiosk of the touchless wash bay, ask for the Drop ‘n Wash, and we take it from there while they go to dine or shop in the plaza.”
Sullivan reported that customers can expect the service to take 15 to 20 minutes, added the article.
