DE PERE, Wis. — PDQ Manufacturing Inc., as part of its ongoing campaign to support the charitable work of organizations that serve local residents, has made a $5,000 donation to the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Wisconsin, stated a press release.
The amount, continued the release, was matched by the Dover Foundation, the philanthropic arm of PDQ’s parent company, Dover Corporation, for a total donation of $10,000.
According to the release, the Dover Foundation was created in 2011 to help support not-for-profit organizations, causes and projects that benefit the local communities in which its operating companies are located.
This marks the fifth consecutive year, noted the release, that PDQ and the Dover Foundation have made a donation to Make-A-Wish of Wisconsin, which grants the wishes of children who have been diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions.
The release stated that this year’s donations helped make the wishes of two ill Wisconsin children come true:
- Emily, a 12-year-old diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer, received her wish when a bakery kitchen was installed in her home, which will allow her to focus on the joy she finds in baking and help her escape the rigors of her medical condition.
- Payton, an 11-year-old diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma, had her wish granted by traveling with her family to Hawaii to spend time together at Disney’s famous Aulani Resort & Spa in Oahu.
“The Make-A-Wish Foundation is an extremely well-respected organization, and we’re pleased that for the fifth straight year we can provide them with a charitable donation,” said Andrea Brazeau, HR generalist for PDQ Manufacturing. “The opportunity and ability to give back to local communities in which we operate is very important to PDQ, Dover Corporation and its employees, and we are extremely pleased to be able to partner with Make-A-Wish and help such special people as Emily and Payton.”
