RIVERSIDE, Ill. — Exxon Mobil Corp. is piloting Mobil Synergy, a new fuel and image program at the pump, at various gas stations in the U.S., according to CSPnet.com.
For the program, stated the article, new fuel dispensers feature a red arch with the “Synergy” identification and enhanced lighting.
Bill McCloskey, vice president of Texor Petroleum in Riverside, Illinois, said his company is testing the new program at two sites, reported the article, one in Lisle at a Minuteman convenience store and the other in Chicago at a Snappy c-store location.
McCloskey reported that ExxonMobil is also conducting beta tests in Tennessee and Wisconsin, added the article.
The concept has also been tested at Esso Stations throughout the U.K., continued the article, and Esso’s website reports that it is also testing a line of enhanced fuel, called Supreme+ Unleaded Petro.
“The new outdoor image is Mobil’s answer to Shell’s V-Power,” said McCloskey in the article.
The article reported that V-Power is Shell’s 98-octane, nitrogen-enriched fuel offering.
“ExxonMobil is piloting a new retail site design at selected Exxon- and Mobil-branded service stations in the U.S.,” confirmed Christian Flathman, ExxonMobil spokesperson, in the article. “Synergy is the new name for the fuel products being used at the pilot sites. We are always looking for ways to better serve our consumers, and these changes are being considered to enhance our consumers’ buying experience.”
Around 10,000 gas stations throughout the U.S. carry Exxon- or Mobil-branded fuel, noted the article.
