Notable Acts of Charity
As part of our people-centric culture, Mister Car Wash established the Mister Cares Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, to support our employees experiencing unexpected financial hardship. To date, the Mister Cares Foundation has raised more than $3 million and granted $706,000 in funds to 696 recipients to cover unexpected circumstances. As a company focused on developing and training future leaders, we know the importance of supporting team members as they work to accomplish educational goals. That’s why the Foundation offers the Inspiring Futures scholarship program. Eligible employees can apply for a $2,500 scholarship to be used at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, vocational-technical school or hospital school of nursing. In 2022, Mister Cares Foundation granted $50,000 to 20 recipients. Additionally, since 2015, Mister has invested more than $4 million in its local communities through its fundraising and in-kind donations programs. Mister’s fundraising program enables local organizations to sell carwash vouchers at retail price and keep 50% of the proceeds. More than 2,000 organizations have benefited from the program, with an average of $1,000 raised per organization.
Community Impacts
Mister Car Wash focuses its charitable efforts on our people and our communities. Established in 2020, the Mister Cares Foundation is funded through employee contributions through payroll deduction or one-time donations. As of October 2022, 42% of employees nationwide contribute to the foundation to help their fellow employees. In addition, we proudly partner with thousands of organizations across the country that align with our goals of inspiring shine, fostering a love of learning and teaching life skills. Our Community Giving programs take many forms as we find the best way to partner and provide the most impact. Community Giving is hyper-local, giving back to organizations supporting the communities around our stores. In 2022, Mister launched a campaign to advance water education and stewardship solutions through partnerships with national nonprofit the Project WET Foundation and the Tucson Million Trees initiative.
