Carwash and Susan G. Komen team up to help find a cure

VALLEJO, Calif. — During the month of October, 7 Flags Car Wash donated $1 for every full-service carwash and accepted donations from customers to raise awareness and money to help find a cure for breast cancer.

VALLEJO, Calif. — 7 Flags Car Wash and the Susan G. Komen organization teamed up for the month of October to help raise awareness about checking for breast cancer and to raise money to help find a cure, according to a press release.

For the month-long promotion, Susan G. Komen donated “race for the cure” banners, pink ribbon buttons, pink pencils and literature about how to prevent breast cancer, stated the release.

The 7 Flags team promoted awareness by switching the soap in the tunnel to pink, having employees wear pink bracelets and breast cancer buttons and by having all managers, service advisers and quality control inspectors wear pink shirts, reported the release.

7 Flags Car Wash donated $1 for every full-service carwash for the month of October and also accepted donations from their loyal customers, continued the release.

The carwash was able to raise more than $8,800 to donate to the Susan G. Komen organization to help find a cure, added the release.

“Breast cancer has affected us all in one form or another, whether it’s a family member, coworker, friend or even yourself personally, it has touched all of our lives,” noted the release. “One out of every eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer, early detection is the key to survival. With the help from fundraisers, volunteers, sponsors, small businesses, scientists and physicians we can end Breast Cancer forever.”
