CHANDLER, Ariz. — Taking advantage of market synergy, popular windshield repair businesses are teaming up with carwashes here to generate more sales and market their services, the East Valley Tribune reported.
For 10 years, the president of Auto Glass Shop, Jeff Searles, has worked with Full Circle Auto Wash, the article noted. Today, consumers come into the carwash looking for glass repair because they know a professional is on-site to replace a windshield.
Searles stated in the article that working with local carwashes was a better marketing strategy than television or newspaper advertising. The wash’s traffic also provides Searles a flow of new customers.
“What we have found is that if you can find a place where lots of cars come on a regular basis, there is a strong likelihood that one of those cars is going to have a crack across their windshield,” he said in the article. “We are identifying a customer that has a need for our services and then we are introducing our company to that customer to allow them to make an informed buying decision.”
Since Arizona is a no-fault state, filing an insurance claim for windshield repair is easy. Unfortunately, this may make it easier for insurance scammers to set up shop at local business and then pretend to be a reputable auto glass company, the article noted.
Even so, these fraudulent companies are just a small percent of the auto glass services in the area, according to the article.
“There are a lot of us out here, in the state of Arizona that are really trying to do it right,” Searles said in the article. “People think that if you’re at a carwash selling auto glass that immediately makes you a criminal, that’s just not the case.”
